Shields Township is an 18-square-mile area that extends from 18th Street in North Chicago to Route 60 in Lake Forest (imagine a line drawn from Route 60 straight east to the lake), and from Lake Michigan on the east to roughly a half-mile west of Waukegan Road. It contains all of Lake Bluff, most of Knollwood, about half of Lake Forest, and about half of North Chicago. Its population is approximately 43,000. |
